Yes of course! Please click here to visit our web pages which contain a number of recommended academic resources and useful online guides to help you develop your Academic Writing technique.

We can also provide support and guidance in person at the Ask desk and in group sessions with your module tutor. (If you would like us to work with a group, please contact the tutor for your module and request a Learning Services information and research skills session).

Come along to the Ask desk to see a member of the Academic Support Division for advice about Academic Writing. We can help you to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies and skills which you can use as you plan and write your assignments and also offer help searching for information and using eResources for your subject.

Throughout the year, we will be running UniSkills workshops, these sessions are delivered by our team of skills advisors and will cover topics such as starting your research, academic writing and dissertations. To attend one of these workshops, simply book online through our webpages

We also have a series of UniSkills online interactive toolkits which you can access 24/7 from your PC or mobile device. These toolkits cover a number of essential academic skills to help you improve the quality of your assignment. Topic include: planning your assignment, finding academic information and referencing. To access these toolkits, log in to the GO portal and click on your subject resources tab (in the top right-hand corner of the GO portal).

If you require further help or wish to speak to your subject librarian, please come and see us in person at the Ask desk (Ormskirk) or help desk if you are at a site library. Alternatively, you can Ask Us online.
