If the account is no longer live this will result in a further delay in payment:

The process is as follows:

1.    The refund payment is sent from the University to the cardholder (as per the 28 days outlined above)
2.    The card provider will reject the payment as the account is no longer live and the payment is returned to the University, (timescale: this is dependent on the card provider’s process and we have no timescales here but allow 28 days)
3.    The finance team will contact the cardholder in order to establish an alternative method of refunding the deposit
