Under the student disciplinary regulations, we would take the details of the complaint and log on our disciplinary system. We would identify through the student records system who lives in the off campus property and invite them in for a meeting with a member of the Accommodation Team.
All students in attendance are required to make a statement to help with the investigation and then a decision is made by the Accommodation or Campus Life team as to whether a sanction should be issued to the student(s) responsible. Support is also issued when appropriate. All information appropriate to an investigation is recorded by the Accommodation or Campus Life Team. If a sanction is issued, this will affect a student's ability to re-apply to stay in halls at any point for the remainder of their time at Edge Hill University.
The complainant is also advised to liaise with West Lancashire Borough Council and also the local police, who we work with collaboratively in dealing with these issues.
