If you have already had assessments you can provide us with evidence of your dyslexia, if you have it, but if not you can have an Informal Assessment (IA). The IA will flag up any likelihood of you having an Specific Learning Difficulty, also known as SpLD.
There is useful information on the SpLD Learning Services web pages
You may choose to have the full Diagnostic Assessment (DA) with one of our Assessors, but for this you will have to pay a non-refundable fee of £100.
The DA will take about 2 1/2 hours and the Assessor will have a copy of your IA with them. They’ll test you on things like memory, vocabulary, reading & writing speeds, visual reasoning and spatial awareness.
At the end of the DA process you will be asked to make a Feedback Appointment with the SPLD Team, but this needs to be two weeks later. This allows the Assessor enough time to prepare their report. For further information please don't hesitate to contact us on 01695 650800 (option 3) or speak to your assessor.
