When you quote from the Bible, Quran, Torah or any sacred text, the required elements for your reference are:

Citation in assignment text

Name of religious text: Book version. Sura or Chapter: Verse

e.g ‘In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth’ (The Holy Bible: Genesis. 1:1)

Note: Convention dictates that you do not use page numbers with religious/sacred texts.

Reference in bibliography

Name of religious text: Book version, Date. Location: Publisher.

e.g The Holy Bible: New international Version, 1979. London: Hodder & Stoughton.
